The Breath of LentSample

We are people who are obsessed with our work and accomplishments. Many of us look for the next opportunity, promotion, event, or milestone. Schooling, relationships, marriage, family, job… Our constant need for progress is exacerbated by social media perpetuating this sense of needing to do something each day that is worthy of sharing. The ability to work hard is a gift, and we should celebrate those accomplishments. However, Jesus clarifies that the work that God requires is to “believe in the one He has sent.” Is your desire for Christ, your hunger to know Him, to be close to Him, more pressing than your desire to accomplish your next goal?
Jesus says that we will never go hungry if we come to Him. He will not turn you away. He will celebrate with you, sit with you in challenging seasons, and guide you when you are lost. Don’t allow your need for progress to outshine your need for His presence. Hunger for Him, and He will provide the rest.
Inhale: Better is one day in your courts
Exhale: than a thousand elsewhere
