Lent Youth Guide | Jesus' Real Talk During His Hardest & Darkest MomentsSample

Who do you say I am?
Think:
Sometimes we get the wrong idea about who God really is, and it messes with how we connect with Him. These ideas come from things like how we were raised, our culture, or tough experiences we've been through. Maybe you think God is distant, doesn’t care, or is just waiting to judge you. But that’s not who He really is. These false ideas block us from growing in our relationship with Him. During seasons like Lent, we’re challenged to rethink these ideas and replace them with the truth about God. Jesus shows us exactly who God is—He said, “If you see Me, you see the Father.” Jesus reveals God as an involved, loving, and caring Father who steps into our lives to do for us what we can’t do for ourselves.
Live:
Take time this week to check your perspective on God. Are you holding onto any wrong ideas about Him? Dive into the stories of Jesus in the Bible and see how He treated people—with kindness, compassion, and love. That’s how God is with you too. Start seeing Him as your perfect Father who is always there, deeply cares about you, and wants to be close to you. As you get to know Jesus more, let Him change the way you see God and deepen your relationship with Him.
Pray:
God, I want to know You for who You really are. Help me let go of any wrong ideas I have about You and replace them with the truth of Your love. Amen.

About this Plan

During this Lent journey, we will spend 40 days with the questions that Jesus asked in the last days of his life. You are invited to honestly grieve and explore His suffering experience with Jesus, in His fragility, His openness and His courage. You will be guided with four action words to help you on this Lent journey. You are invited to Read, Think, Live and Pray as we explore the real talk of Jesus during his hardest & darkest moments. You are invited to reflect on the content and your experiences at the end of each week.
