Consider It All JoySample

Learning Contentment
I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.
Philippians 4:12
God my Strength,
Forgive me for despising my circumstances. Isn’t it just like human nature to want everything perfect all the time! I suppose that is partly the spirit of eternity You have given me, but I know I have taken that gift and dragged it into sin where it becomes discontentment. While longing for more and for perfection reveals You made me for eternity, I sinfully take that longing and look to earthly things to satisfy me. And I strive with all that I am to be happy, to be comfortable.
But this is not contentment. I praise You for this opportunity to grow, Jesus! For I know learning how to be content whatever situation I am in means I’m drawing close to You, not simply getting what I want. Thank You for bringing me low, for giving me moments of abounding. Experiencing true joy in all circumstances is something that no comfort or fleeting moments of happiness comes close to touching. So instead of growing discontent, I will joyfully take each circumstance and learn how to be content. With Your strength, I can do this!
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
