The Bible for Young Explorers: GenesisSample

God makes a promise
In Genesis 12, God calls Abram (or Abraham – they are the same person) and Sarah and promises to bring hope back to the whole human race. Their family become the nation of Israel. In the New Testament, God fulfils this promise.
How to use a tree to your advantage
Abram would have used natural landmarks like trees for navigation and also for shade on his journey. Today, in hot parts of the world, schools still meet under big trees so children can learn in the shade.
Bear Grylls says
'Even Abraham got scared and lied, saying his wife was his sister. The story of Abraham is about God being faithful, not us being perfect.'
