The Kid: An Advent Devotional for Middle SchoolersSample

Did you know mango trees take 5-8 years to produce fruit after being planted? That’s a long wait, but fresh mangoes are worth it! Similarly, God's promises in the Bible often required patience. For example, God promised Abraham his descendants would become a great nation and promised David that his throne would be established forever. They waited and waited for these promises to be fulfilled. With the arrival of Jesus that first Christmas, God fulfilled these promises, proving to be a promise keeper.
Today, think about a time you had to wait for something good to happen. Consider what it might look like for you to trust God as you wait for other good things in your life, specifically the things God promised.
