Be HumbleSample

Have you ever rushed to be first in line for something? Maybe it was for dinner, or to get ice cream, or to get something free in a giveaway. We all want to be first when it benefits us, right? But when we’re talking about going first to do something we aren’t so sure about—like taking a test, volunteering to serve someone else, or even sharing our faith—then we aren’t as eager to be in the front of the line. Jesus reminds us that we must be humble to be first in His Kingdom.
We must follow His lead and humble ourselves to trust God to lead us. We have to serve and lift others up. Even when it means stepping out of our comfort zones, we can do it confidently and humbly when we follow Jesus’ example. We can put others first when we know we’re doing it with Jesus’ help.
This week, think about one way you can put someone else first. Maybe you do something to help them, pray for them, or find a way to serve them and meet a need. Whatever it is, follow Jesus’ example and humble yourself to lift someone else up.
