Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight (Jeremiah 9:24).
How well do you know the Lord?
Jeremiah preaches throughout the book, condemning the idolatry that eventually leads to the nation's demise. Yet he expresses the things that God longs for in His people in Jeremiah 9:24. Our Lord looks for the individual who "understands and knows Me." The Hebrew term "understands" denotes to walk in wisdom based upon insight and the word "knows" in the Hebrew and Greek Translation of the Old Testament (LXX) is used of a personal knowledge (Genesis 4:1). God longs for those who live skillfully because they know Him intimately. Saints, who walk with the Lord who is given to lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, please Him. Let us pursue these things for God's glory.
Employment Point: Seek to live skillfully by a deep and personal knowledge of God.
