King & KingdomsSample

Now the temple is completed and Solomon has organized a massive worship gathering to celebrate. They make sacrifices and honor what God has done, but the most shocking moment comes in verses 10-11. Just like the cloud followed the Israelites when they were in the wilderness (remember back in Numbers), now the cloud has returned, and with such intensity that the priests are not even able to minister because the glory of God inside is too intense.
This shows that God is pleased with what has been done and He provided a visible sign to the people that He was there with them. This is also a sign of God's awesome power - can you imagine a place being so full of God that you had to run outside? That's what happened to these priests. God's power is worthy of our awe; He is in control of everything and is so much greater than anything we can ever imagine.
Think it Over: Are you in "awe" of God on a daily basis? Think of one thing today that amazes you about God.
