There Will Be Peace Have you ever noticed how much of each day we face with an undercurrent of fear? Think how much time and energy is taken up by security thinking and planning. Think of the last time you crossed the street to avoid someone. Ever been in your car, noticed who was standing on the street, and quickly locked your doors? Do you put your purse in the trunk of your car to avoid a theft? Even our computers need increasingly expensive and complex security software to protect our data from people who enjoy planting destructive worms and viruses. Daily vigilance is necessary. But it is also exhausting. Your Savior wants us to know that in his new world you will live in absolute safety. Everywhere. Always. Nobody is ever going to threaten or hurt you again. Isaiah says that even the animals will live in peace: "The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. . . . They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain" (Isaiah 65:25). Everyone you meet in heaven will be your friend.
