There Will Be Resurrection What is your most miserable funeral memory? Was it burying your husband? your mom? or . . . one of your children? You know, death is always ugly. Even when one of my loved ones has passed away after a long life and lengthy illness, it still hurts to let go. Death seems so final, so cruel. Only Jesus Christ has a rescue from the grave. He instructed the prophet Daniel to inform us, "Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake" (Daniel 12:2). I think I can bear almost anything knowing that my Savior will catch me when I fall. I can survive any separation knowing that I will be reunited with all believers. Those who die in the Lord aren't lost. They only got to the finish line a little before we did. Our Lord Jesus himself demonstrated how resurrection of the body will work. His rising authorizes him to perform mine. And yours. My Redeemer lives. Yours does too.
