14 Honest Prayers for Mama BearsSample

Day 8: Discerning God’s Voice from Other Voices
Oh Lord, the world is so loud, sometimes even deafening. [Child] is bombarded with so much information, much of it distorted by lies. Getting distracted from the truth of Your Word is becoming easier and easier amid the clamor and chaos. God, help [child] to discern the difference between Your voice and the voices of those influenced by the enemy or unhealthy worldly perspectives. Keep [child] mindful of the deceiver’s tactics, and constantly remind [him/her] to test every message [he/she] hears against the truths of Scripture, reason, and reality. Help [him/her] know that the battle for discernment isn’t always between overt good and evil, but as Charles Spurgeon said, “between right and almost right.”
Lord, the enemy wraps his most potent lies in partial truths. Protect my child from believing deceptions that sound good, loving, and even Christlike, though they ultimately lead to death. Keep [child’s] heart tuned into Your voice, knowing that You are always at work even when You seem silent.
