In almost every fairy tale or epic movie saga, there is always a battle-weary hero who finds themselves at a crossroads—having to choose between doing what’s easy and doing what’s right. It’s practically a tale as old as time. And while we always hope that the hero will opt for the right choice, we’re sure quite a few of us are left wondering if the choice was up to us, which would we choose? In every situation, we always have a choice. Now, sometimes the choice is something terrible with the other option being even worse. But even then, we have a choice. But how do we know which road to take? Even when we know the right choice, how do we choose the more difficult task when an easier option is right there for us to take? It’s in these times we as believers always have the best choice of all, which is to call on our Heavenly Father to help us see the situation from His perspective.
Take a second to think about the last few days. Has there been a situation where you were tempted to make a wrong choice? During that time, did you try to decide on your own, or did you spend time in prayer? This week, create a reminder to yourself to turn to God before you make any decision this week.

About this Plan

We all have to deal with temptation at some point in our lives. Why does it have a hold on us and what can we do to break it? We’ll read what God says about temptation to see that while we each have temptations of our own, we never have to go through the struggles alone. Even when we’re faced with tempting thoughts, there is always a way through.
