I don’t know about you, but the minute I find myself tempted by something I know I shouldn’t do, that’s when I feel entirely alone. It’s almost like those feelings of wanting something so badly push away every single thought we have about the people that we know care about us. Instead of turning to my friends and family, it’s easier to hide or ignore them. We get the thought in our heads that they have no idea of the situation we’re dealing with, and they could just never understand why we are struggling so much. Not only them, but we feel as though no one in the world understands us either.
But even in the darkest corners of our minds, we’re never truly alone. Even amid the battle between what we want and what we know is best for us, Jesus is right there beside us. And He’s not watching from the sidelines. He jumps right into the battle because He’s been there too. He’s faced temptation…and won. And He promises that when we find ourselves feeling alone in temptation, He will be right there with us, guiding us back to the path that God has planned for us. How does it feel to know that Jesus has already faced temptation and won? This week, remind yourself that you’re never in the battle alone, but instead, turn to God who is on your side and who has already fought the fight and won.

About this Plan

We all have to deal with temptation at some point in our lives. Why does it have a hold on us and what can we do to break it? We’ll read what God says about temptation to see that while we each have temptations of our own, we never have to go through the struggles alone. Even when we’re faced with tempting thoughts, there is always a way through.
