Jesus Calms the Storm
Listen to "Jesus Calms the Storm":
Reflect
When today’s hectic world brings us distress, we cry out for help. We might even echo the disciples’ words to Jesus in this story: “Don’t you care…?”
The disciples panicked, “Don’t you care that we’re going to die?” Yet, Jesus slept peacefully, and then He calmly commanded the waves and wind to be still.
This story reminds us that, first of all, fierce storms will come. No one is exempt. The Lord allows us to experience them, even to the brink of despair. Secondly, with one command Jesus can change the situation from disastrous to calm.
Take a moment to go to Jesus with your personal storm. Confess any fear or doubt. When we look to Jesus, our perspective changes.
● What seems impossible about your situation? Thank Jesus that He is in control, despite your storm. Worship Him in song.
● What other ways can you live out your faith in the midst of your dilemma?
Journal
