FREEDOM40 - 40-Day Men’s Challenge to Live in FreedomSample

DAY 31
REFLECT + FOCUS
What’s the most important command in the whole Bible? It’s a trick question! Most Christians would quickly answer:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”
Matthew 22:37, Mark 12:30 NIV
However, Jesus says this is the most important command in the law. (Deuteronomy 6:5)
Just before the cross Jesus gives, I believe, the most important command in the whole of scripture:
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.”
John 15:9 NIV
Remaining in Jesus’s love - staying firmly rooted, grounded and living in His love - what does that like for you?
(Please listen to the interviews in the video.)
Listen to this promise from Jude:
But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy -- to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
Jude 1:20-21, 24-25 NIV
Do you want God to keep you from falling? Do you long for Him to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy? That’s what He will do!
But don’t forget your part of the promise:
- Build yourselves up in your most holy faith.
- Pray in the Holy Spirit.
- Keep yourselves in God's love.
SHOUT
As you declare today’s shout - thank Him for His love, and ask Him for concrete ways that you can remain in His love, all day, everyday.
As the Father has loved me,
so have I loved you.
Now remain in my love.
John chapter 15, verse 9
DISCOVERY BIBLE
Continue to discover God’s heart for us through His word to us today in Luke 10:38-42.
What is God showing you through this passage? Take notes and share some thoughts with your brothers, as you pray for one another.
