FREEDOM40 - 40-Day Men’s Challenge to Live in FreedomSample

DAY 33
REFLECT + FOCUS
We don’t need a sprinkling of the Word of God - we need a constant shower!
The Word of God is full of promises to those who value and prioritize it - storing it up in our hearts and minds, and keeping it always on our lips.
Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.
Psalm 119:165 NIV
(The one who) delights in the law of the LORD, and meditates on it day and night - he is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
Psalm 1:2-3 NIV
I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
Psalm 119:11 NIV
Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Joshua 1:8
Do you want to have “great peace”, and to never stumble? Do you want to be kept from sin, and walk righteously? Do you want to be prosperous and successful? Then soak your mind and heart in the Word of God, and walk with the Holy Spirit to obey it every day.
Listen to how some brothers are doing this:
(Please listen to the interviews in the video.)
Here’s a few other ideas:
- Write out a verse to take with you all day - speak, sing or shout it out as much as you can.
- Use the Bible app to listen to the Word of God whenever you can.
- Use Bible plans by yourself, or with a friend. Share your thoughts daily.
It’s not a competition on how much you can read, know or study. It is about letting “the word of Christ dwell in you richly” (Colossians 3:16) so that your spirit within you rises up and leads you, according to His word - rather than being tossed to and fro by emotions and circumstances.
SHOUT
As you declare today’s shout, ask God to help you fall in love with His word. May we thirst more and more for Him, as revealed by His word. May we walk in the grace of simple obedience.
Abundant peace belongs to those who love your instruction;
nothing makes them stumble.
Psalm 119:165
DISCOVERY BIBLE
Continue to discover God’s heart for us through His word to us in Psalm 119:9-16.
What is God showing you through this passage? Take notes and share some thoughts with your brothers, as you pray for one another.
(*Some Discovery Bible passages have been updated since the original. We add the previous passage for reference if you need: Acts 9:1-19.)
