RevelationSample

While the focus of Revelation 4 is on the throne of God, in this chapter John shifts his focus to a scroll that is sealed with seven seals and held in God’s right hand.
The contents of the scroll is what is going to be told in the chapters ahead in three different ways and in sets of seven: seven seals, seven trumpets, and seven bowls. These three sets of seven are usually understood to refer to the events of human history between Jesus' first and second coming.
Once we understand this framework, Revelation becomes much more manageable to read and understand.

About this Plan

The apocalypse ("uncovering" in Greek) that John receives reveals the nature of the world as it is and will one day be. Amidst all of the cosmic imagery is a Lamb and its army who conquer through the power of sacrificial love. This 8-week plan is written by the church and for the church as we seek to follow Jesus in the 21st century.
