In this chapter, Jesus isn’t just a lamb, but a lamb that stood as though it had been slain. The Lamb is alive and standing, but still has the marks of a previous sacrifice. This shows us that Jesus’ sacrifice is still fresh in the eyes of God. There’s nothing stale or old about the work that Jesus did on the cross - even thousands of years later, it’s still just as fresh as the day that he died. There's a continuous sacrifice always ready for us at the throne of God.

About this Plan

The apocalypse ("uncovering" in Greek) that John receives reveals the nature of the world as it is and will one day be. Amidst all of the cosmic imagery is a Lamb and its army who conquer through the power of sacrificial love. This 8-week plan is written by the church and for the church as we seek to follow Jesus in the 21st century.
