“The world is evil only when you become it’s slave.” (Henri Nouwen in Life of the Beloved)
As Creator, God made the world and everything in it good and for us to enjoy. As created ones, we are invited to enjoy and delight in creation along with the Lord. However, as we bear the image of God, we are also called to holiness, to be set apart from the world and its fallen state.
This means that we don’t seek the world for fulfillment of our desires. God calls us to be in the world, but not to be the same as it.
What does it look like for you to be uncompromised to the secular world rather than striving for relatability with it?

About this Plan

The Epistle of James has so much to offer us as followers of Jesus today. It was originally written to Jewish Christians spread all over the ancient world. The message is straight to the point, practical, and challenging. Wherever we find ourselves following Jesus, this letter can help us realize how our spiritual and practical life should be one in the same.
