In chapter 1, James mentioned the word “perfect” in the context of living a “perfect” life. Translated to Hebrew (Tamim) this word more closely resembles the definition of wholeness. James speaks throughout his book about living a life of wholeness instead of the fractured life we live without Jesus. We’ll look at what he hones in on in this chapter throughout this week.

About this Plan

The Epistle of James has so much to offer us as followers of Jesus today. It was originally written to Jewish Christians spread all over the ancient world. The message is straight to the point, practical, and challenging. Wherever we find ourselves following Jesus, this letter can help us realize how our spiritual and practical life should be one in the same.
