Day Three - Praise Him for what He has done.

Our children witness miracles, signs, and wonders daily, but they will never truly understand where the miracles, signs, and wonders are coming from if we do not first point them out. How do we show our children what God has done for us? Here's a few ideas of how you can show your child God’s goodness within 24 hours:

• When you wake your child up in the morning, after you give them a greeting, tell them that God woke them up this morning.
• When you feed your child breakfast in the morning, after you say grace, let your child know that God provided the food.
• When driving your child to school in the morning, let them know that God provided the car.
• When you are doing homework with your children after school, let them know that God provided the school supplies, the school, and the teachers.
• When you are having a family game night, show them that God gave them a warm, loving family.
• When it is time to tuck them into bed after you say your prayers, point out a few objects in the room God provided them with, including the breath in their body.

This may seem silly initially, but when your child wants to say their prayers, they will know precisely what to praise God for.

Their prayer may sound something like this:

God, I thank you for waking me up this morning. I thank you for the breakfast you provided me. I thank you for the car that you gave us to drive. I thank you for my school and for my teachers. I thank you for the supplies that you gave me to work with. God, I thank you for my warm, loving family. And most of all, I thank you for the air you’ve given me in my lungs.

Children will not understand God’s goodness unless we point it out to them.
