Start the Party - High SchoolSample

John the Baptist said these words as he was preaching to people and preparing them for the arrival of Jesus. His whole job description was to get them ready to hear the message of Jesus. And what did he tell them to do? Repent is just a fancier way of saying “rethink and live differently” or “change your mind and live differently.” In other words, John wanted people to be on the lookout for God—but in a way that maybe looks totally different than they might expect. In the same way, this is John’s message for us: “The Kingdom of God is here—but get ready to see it in places you might not expect! Change your mind about what that looks like!” This week, pray and ask God to open your eyes to where the Kingdom of God may be happening around you that you haven’t noticed before. Ask God to help you change your mind about what the Kingdom looks like so it more accurately reflects God’s heart.
