Start the Party - High SchoolSample

Growing up, maybe you (or someone you know) often felt like you didn’t really have a say in things. Maybe it was a situation at home where you felt like your parents were not listening to you. Maybe it was at recess or around friends, and you had this AMAZING idea you wanted to share, but then nobody really wanted to listen. Because of these moments, maybe you start to question whether or not your voice matters. The lies in our head tell us things like, “you aren’t that important,” “there isn’t a point in speaking up,” or “nobody cares about what you do or how you do it.” But read what God says in this verse again, “Don’t let anyone look down on you.” Then the verse reads, “set an example for the believers in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity.” This tells us that not only does our voice matter, but the way we carry ourselves in all situations matters!
Once we realize how important we are and why God put us on this Earth, we can use our gifts and talents to set an example of what living a life for Jesus is all about and tell others about Him. Ask God to help you on this journey of self-discovery and ask for opportunities to set an example for others.
