Start the Party - High SchoolSample

Do you have something you are worried about right now? A friendship, family tension, work, or school issue? When something is weighing us down, everything is affected. That’s why the whole world looks better when we don’t have something to worry about. This Psalm (which you can think of as a poem or song) from a writer named David isn’t talking about a life free of troubles. David says his heart leaps for joy; he feels carefree because he can trust in God, not because his life is perfect. In other words, whether you are worried about something now or things couldn’t be better, trusting God in the middle of it can lead to more of the joy we all want.
Today, find a worship song that connects with you and whatever you are facing right now. As you listen, pay attention to the words that remind you of God’s love, joy, and comfort, and write them down in a journal or your Bible.
