Face to Face With Jesus - a Lenten MeditationSample

The hem of a garment is the very edge of one’s clothing. A woman who was bleeding for twelve long years decided to take a chance and touch the hem of Jesus’ garment just to receive healing. She had tried all other options and nothing had worked. This was probably her last option and yet her faith in the power of Jesus seems so definite and established. It’s amazing that in spite of the pressing crowds, Jesus felt power leave him and knew that someone had touched Him. When he enquired she stepped forward and shared her story. He affirms her healing by telling her that her faith healed her!
So many times when we need a breakthrough we step back saying “God already knows what I need” or “maybe this is how it’s going to be forever”. What if all you need to do is to press in close to the Saviour so that His healing virtue flows to you? What if after years of waiting for your miracle the time is now for you to touch the “hem of his garment” by getting up close and personal with Jesus?
Questions to ask yourself
Is there any area in my life that I’m afraid to expose to God for his touch to heal me?
Is there a discipline I need to have in my life that helps me press into God’s presence daily?
