Face to Face With Jesus - a Lenten MeditationSample

Peter was a very interesting man and definitely a disciple worth remembering. He sees Jesus walking on water and asks to join Him (an unusual request). Jesus calls him to come and when Peter obeys he walks for a few seconds on the water until he looks around and sees the raging storm. Jesus reaches out and catches him as he starts to sink and chides him gently. Jesus’ question of Peter is something we can look at for our own lives. Doubt and fear are the two weapons that the enemy uses many times to derail our faith and undermine God’s power and capabilities. When we are surrounded by hardship and suffering sometimes it's easier to focus on the struggle than on the Saviour. It may be time for us to intentionally look to God for our help even when we are plagued by doubt and fear.
Questions to ask yourself
What are the biggest fears that I have currently?
What doubts do I have about God that I need to bring to the feet of Jesus?
