Behind the Scenes I work in the Performing Arts Department, more distinctly involved in Theatre. So, quite evidently, mimes, pantomimes and puppet shows are part and parcel of my everyday routine. Nevertheless, the excitement is new at every show when you sit there in the audience, waiting for the curtains to go up. Now, here’s the thing about curtains in puppet shows. Everybody wants to know what’s hidden behind them. It’s human nature. We wonder, ‘How did that puppet without legs dance so well?’ Most performers will tell you, it’s not wise to show the crowd what goes on behind the scenes. It ruins the illusion. But one thing’s for sure, to make every puppet act, look convincing, there is a lot of effort that’s put in behind the scene. It takes a good crew to pull it off. In our lives too, we have a crew—God Himself, His Son Jesus, the Holy Spirit and His army of angels. They work behind the scenes for us, so that every act is perfect. If you were to catch a glimpse of what’s going on behind the curtain that separates us from the invisible, you would see this crew. You’d see God fighting your battles for you. You would see Him arranging everything in your favor. You would see Him opening doors of opportunity for you… and so much more. Perhaps, if you ask God to roll up the curtain too soon and show you how He plans to do it all, you might be overwhelmed. But if you believe He is in control, He will make sure it all turns out perfect. After all, He has planned it. Even before the foundations of the world, He wrote the script for your life. Just know that God is orchestrating everything behind the scenes. You don’t have to worry. You just need to be enjoying the show! Declaration I choose to relinquish control over my life and believe God to direct all my steps from today. I choose to relax and enjoy life because God is in control.
