Pursue Holiness God alone is holy (Revelation 15:4). He is glorious in holiness, and there is none holy like our God. His words, name, throne, temple, habitation/house, are all holy. So everything about God speaks of holiness. God created us in true holiness. He chose us, that we should be holy before Him and He called us with a holy calling. We are, therefore, the elect of God, holy and beloved, partaking of His holiness. How do we become holy before God? God sent His Son Jesus into the world, who died for our sins on the cross, and made us His righteous children through faith in Him. As we repent of our sins and confess them before God, He forgives us, cleanses us from all unrighteousness and washes us by His blood. Having been set free from sin, we become slaves of righteousness, leading to holiness. And having become slaves of God, we bear the fruit of holiness. God’s will for our lives is sanctification. In His word, He says, "I am the Lord your God, you shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and be holy for I am holy.” It is also written, “Those who come near me must be regarded as holy.” We must, therefore, praise and worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness, serve Him in holiness, and present our bodies holy and acceptable unto God. Finally, we should pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). Prayer Lord, cleanse us from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, that we may perfect holiness in the fear of God. Amen.
