Show Us the Father In John 14:8, Philip told Jesus, “Show us the Father.” Jesus immediately told Philip, “If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father”. Jesus came to the earth as a hundred per cent man and a hundred per cent God. He was part of the Godhead – the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The miracles that He did, conveyed the Father’s heart. His teachings and parables were meant to open the eyes of the people, to see God’s Kingdom. When Jesus died on the cross, He disarmed principalities and powers and triumphed over them all (Colossians 2:15). His death and resurrection on the cross caused the veil to be torn, paving the way for man to have direct access to God. He conquered sin and death. The power of sin that once separated man from God was broken and we gained complete access to the Father. Through Jesus, we can go to God. He is truly the only way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). In John 10:9, Jesus said that He is the door. Today, when we accept Jesus to be the Lord and Savior of our lives, a doorway is opened to the Father. All the blessings of the Father belong to us. As we spend time with Jesus, and behold Him, we will see and experience the Father’s heart of love towards us. We need to acknowledge that He is the Lord of our lives and there can be none other. Prayer Father God, I thank You for the precious sacrifice of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. Cause me to draw near to You each day and I know that You will draw near to me. Amen.
