Salvation Only in One Name Who is Jesus? Everybody had their own expression about Jesus Christ back in those days too. When Jesus was born, the angel said, “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:11) Jesus did not come to form a new religion. Instead, He came to save lost mankind, to reconcile them to God. He came to give salvation. That’s why He is called ‘Savior’. Many do not understand what salvation is. We think salvation is only eternal life. The Greek word for saved is ‘sozo’, which means to save, to deliver, to preserve, to heal, to protect, do well and make whole. It means all-round prosperity. It is a package deal. Jesus came to give us life and life in abundance. It does not matter who you are or the country you belong to; each one of us needs salvation and this is not to be found in any shop or country, but only in a name, the name above all other names, the name of Jesus! Our Creator God became man and said to us, “My child I am going to help you.” When we ask, ‘What must I do?’ Jesus replies, "I will do everything for you. I will carry your sin, sickness and curse, so you can go free.” He died for us and paid the price saying, “It is finished. "All we need do is to receive this gift of salvation by receiving Him as our very own Lord and Savior. Prayer Father, thank You for sending Your Son Jesus to pay the price for my sin. I receive this gift of salvation. Come, Lord Jesus, into my heart and life and be my Lord and my Savior. Amen.
