A Promise to Lead Us In June 2006, I received news that 31st October 2006 would be my last day at Delta Airlines Inc. A wonderful job as a flight attendant with a good company was now coming to a close. On my next crew layover in Paris, after praying, I wrote a letter to my heavenly Father asking Him for the best job in His firm. At that time, my wife and I were already serving as pastors of New Life Church, Bandra. We were asked to seek God for a call to the ‘full-time ministry’, but waited on God for a confirmation. During the next few months of working and job hunting, I got a call for an interview with a chartered airline, doing flights to Frankfurt and Los Angeles. The thought of visiting these places excited me. I was about to get ready for the interview, when God spoke to me through my wife’s notebook lying beside me. He showed me that He would definitely look after my family and me, through Psalm 23:1, The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. The next scripture helped us make our decision to come into the full time ministry. You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16:11). I knew that life, joy and pleasures were not in Frankfurt or Los Angeles, but at God’s right hand. Psalm 23 is a beautiful analogy of God being our shepherd, providing for us, His sheep, and leading us in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Are you at the crossroads, unaware of which road to take? God promises to lead you to a place where you will be a light for His name and to a place of safety and provision. Ask Him. Prayer Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your promise of direction and leading in my life. I thank You that You will never leave me alone but will direct me to safe and green pastures.
