God’s Presence Often, in life, we get more excited about the current task at hand and lose focus of the bigger goal. Have you ever become more passionate, about accomplishing Jesus’ mission to go and make disciples of all men, than about seeking and knowing Jesus personally? We worry about checking off our so-called ‘Christian to do list’ more than about experiencing the presence of God. Moses realized that the Promised Land meant absolutely nothing without God’s presence. He wanted the Promised Land, only if it was the by-product of knowing and following God. That’s how we need to look at every blessing from God. The big danger for many of us, is letting a great ministry or success, become more important than seeking, experiencing and following Jesus. Moses understood that the only thing that set him apart from the rest of the Israelites, was the presence of God. Whether you are studying in school or college, working in the marketplace or in the home, the only thing that will distinguish you from the others is the presence of God with you. We can be the most talented person, have the best resources and cutting edge strategy, but without seeking God, these things will make no difference in our lives. It is only as God leads us and works through us, that we can become the aroma of Jesus to the world around us (2 Corinthians 4). When we seek, experience, and follow Jesus with all our hearts, we will be able to make an eternal difference wherever God has placed us. Prayer Lord, let my focus be to seek You and experience You in a deeper way than I ever have before. Amen.
