Anxiety

DAY 5 OF 5

In chapter 31 of Deuteronomy, Moses announced to the people of Israel that he could no longer be their leader due to his old age. He shared that a man named Joshua would be taking over in his place. This made the people worry because Moses had led them for a very long time. But Moses reassured the Israelites that they do not need to be afraid! He reminded them that the Lord will go before them, protecting them and watching over them. Can you relate to that feeling? That feeling like everything in the future was unknown? For some of us that can cause anxious thoughts. Moses reminds us in Deuteronomy 31:6-8 that we have no reason to fear the unknown. When we put our trust in the Lord, we can find peace knowing that God goes before us in all situations. We may not know the future, but God does and we can trust him. When we find ourselves in those moments of not knowing what lies ahead, spend time in prayer talking to God about what's happening internally. Ask him to comfort you in the fear of the unknown and ask him to help you find peace while being in the present.

Challenge: Today, have an honest conversation with God about what worries you in your future. After having that conversation with God, live your day embracing the freedom and peace he offers you.
