We all love "generosity," but most of us cringe at the word "sacrifice." What if I told you they were the same? Generosity isn't always easy because it can interfere with our plans. We typically have plans for how we will spend our time and money, but what if we modeled Jesus' generosity?
Our passage today talks about giving generously and with a cheerful heart. Jesus viewed his entire life as an act of service to others so that they could see who God was. This is an incredible model for generosity! When we realize we were born to love and serve others, generosity makes sense. When the sacrifice of generosity feels too hard, we can look to Jesus, who gave his life generously for us. That's the beauty of generosity. Although it's giving something up, the reward is worth it, and we can trust God will take care of us when we give generously.
What's an area of your life you've been holding onto tightly? How could you learn to give generously instead?
