A sure sign of a good friend is someone you call when you need help. When you're in a tough situation and don't know who will answer . . . they're your go-to! Making that call means you believe two things:
- You are close enough to ask them for help.
- You trust they will show up.
This is the kind of relationship God wants with you. God wants you to be close enough that you would ask for help and for you to trust that you're taken care of. Even better than a friend, the Bible says God is like a good parent, and we are God's children if we choose to receive that love. A good parent is someone you can call for help — no matter the hour or place. God is ready and willing to be a place of comfort and provision when we are in need. The more time we spend with God, the more we can trust God is there when we call.
What is one thing you can ask God to help you with today?
