Have you ever received a grade on a project you didn't think you deserved? Like you thought you did terrible on the project and were going to fail, and then the teacher hands you your paper with a big "A+" stamped on the front?
That's the idea behind grace — receiving something you don't deserve. More than that, you're validated for being who you are, not how well you've done. Sometimes it's hard to comprehend. Why would someone give me a gift that I don't deserve? Grace doesn't depend on our performance, goodness, or how many acts of service we've done that day. Jesus died on the cross, showing the ultimate gift of grace. He gave himself to us, even though we didn't deserve it. There's nothing we can do to earn more grace. We've already been given grace that's just enough, and it's given to us daily.
What are you thankful to God for today? How has God been gracious to you?
