Psalms: Window to Our Souls, Part 2Sample

This Psalm is one of the penitential psalms used in church history for the confession of sin and repentance since Origen (3rd century) and Augustine (4th century). The psalmist moves between pouring out their anguish and reflecting on God's glory. Even in the midst of his laments, he finds space to praise God. How can we learn from his example?
In the midst of his penitence and praise, the psalmist also calls for God’s deeds to be recorded so that a future generation may also praise the Lord (v.18). We are one of those generations! Take some time to come before God in both penitence and praise through the words of this Psalm.
