Ask Seek Knock - Sermon on the Mount

DAY 3 OF 15

On January 15, 2022, a volcano in Tonga erupted and it was so loud that repeated booms could be heard by people 10,000km (6214 miles) away in Alaska and over 16,000km (9942 miles) away in Scotland! Because of the speed that sound waves travel, the explosion was heard seven hours after the volcano erupted.

One of the quietest places on Earth is inside an anechoic (means without echo) chamber. It’s a room designed with layers of concrete, steel, and fibreglass to block out any external sound vibration. The noise level inside is measured at negative decibels! It’s -20.3dB. Usually, the quietest level of noise a young person can hear is 0dB. The anechoic chamber is so quiet that when you’re inside you can hear your heart beating, your lungs moving and your stomach gurgling.

When we pray, it doesn’t matter how far away, how loud or how quiet we are, God can hear us. Our prayers don’t take hours to arrive at God’s ears. It doesn’t matter how quietly we pray, whether in our mind or in our heart, God can hear us. You could be in the loudest, busiest place on earth, or you could be snug cosy in bed in the quiet of the night. You never have to worry that God can’t hear you. We can pray anywhere and at any time. God is always listening.

About this Plan

Ask Seek Knock - Sermon on the Mount

Jesus teaches about prayer in His Sermon on the Mount. He teaches us to ask and it will be given to us, seek and we will find, knock and the door will be opened.
