Ask Seek Knock - Sermon on the MountSample

In Luke 17 we read the account of Jesus healing ten men who had a skin disease. Jesus was on His way to Jerusalem and the men called out to Him. Jesus told them to go and show themselves to the priests and on their way, they were healed. One of the men came back and threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked Him and shouted His praise to God. The man that came back to give thanks was a Samaritan. A Samaritan was a person from Samaria, and they were considered enemies of the Jewish people. Jesus said, “Weren’t all ten healed? Where are the other nine? Didn’t anyone else return and give praise to God except this outsider?”
When God answers our prayers, do we just keep on going down the road like the nine men in this story, or do we give thanks to God? We have so much in our lives to thank God for. Take a moment right now and think of something you’re thankful to God for.

About this Plan

Jesus teaches about prayer in His Sermon on the Mount. He teaches us to ask and it will be given to us, seek and we will find, knock and the door will be opened.
