Knowing & Loving God - Closer than you think One of the most distinctive and attractive characteristics of God is that He, unlike what you may have heard, is not far away and out of reach. In fact, the God who is revealed through Jesus is One who is constantly trying to be as close as possible; closer than you think. In this portion Jesus is saying that those who choose to love Him in obedience will have Jesus living in them! Now, that’s close! So if you really want to see and know God, you just need to love Him through obedience. It makes sense because if we say, “I love you” to someone here on earth, we wouldn’t then go behind their back and in the same breath betray them. No, we would love to please them, sacrifice for them and cooperate with them. In the same way we can love God and know him in such an intimate way. No matter how many times you have failed before, today He is asking you to choose to love Him and know Him.
