Congratulations! You have made it through seven weeks of Jesus Changing Everything! Our prayer is that this is just the beginning for you, experiencing the power and presence of our resurrected King in your life. We pray that with every person and place you encounter, this gospel sings in your soul! As we finish up this plan, we will be looking at yet again another life-changing encounter with Christ in Acts 16. This is such a radical story - someone should put it in a major motion picture! As you read this, think about the following:

1. The Gospel is given to all sorts of people. It erases all those previously important social distinctions.

2. Despite the attempts of well-meaning Christians to create a “one size fits all” template for conversion, each of these people in Acts 16 experiences Jesus in a way particular to them. Lydia is moved by teaching; the slave girl by being freed from a demon, and the jailer by the dramatic earthquake and opening of his prison. Some come to Christ all at once, some over time. The Holy Spirit calls - the sinner responds.

3. Finally, Luke sees the Gospel as shaking foundations, disrupting conventions, and overturning agendas. There is the jailer who seems to be in power and Paul and Silas, bloodied and shackled. In 10 seconds, God turns the tables.

The power of the Risen Christ can not only transform us, but it can break our self-made chains and our locked prison doors and set us free! Friend, Christ has set you free! - Brian Mott
