As you read this account you will see Paul's hunger to share the gospel and build God's kingdom in Philippi. He starts with a small ban of praying women. He encounters Lydia. As Paul shared with Lydia, her life gets stirred up to do good works unto the Lord in a most practical way — out of thankfulness for her new found faith in Christ, she offered her home as the first church of Philippi.

Sometimes we get so caught up in doing the "big things", looking to revivals and mountain top experiences- that we miss our call to be faithful in sharing our hunger for Christ through simple acts of hospitality and generosity.
