Jesus Changes Everything. Sample

Because Jesus Changes Everything - Everyone is empowered by Jesus!
The passage we will be reading today shares one healing after another. First, Jesus is on the way to heal a Jewish ruler’s daughter. On the way, he gets interrupted (is there such a thing?) by a woman with a 12 year illness and he heals her based on her faith. He gets to the house and raises the girl from the dead. When Jesus leaves the area, he encounters two blind men and heals them based on their faith. He then heals a demon-possessed man, who talks for maybe the first time. The section ends with an interesting phrase, “When he saw the crowds, He had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” There were so many people messed up and needing help.
His final words of “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few” surely share the urgency, even in our day. One man cannot do it alone. One pastor, one elder, one deacon. It takes all of us. The amazing prayer is ‘for the Lord to send out laborers into His harvest.” The word for send out is the same used for the power and force for sending demons out of people.
Lord, do whatever You have to to get us (all of us) involved in Your work and we will praise You for the harvest! - Brian Mott
