A Refuge in the Storm

Nations conspiring, people plotting and coming against God and His people, the begins this Psalm asking, “Why?”. Sometimes it seems like there is so much darkness and evil in the world, it can feel overwhelming, and you can find yourself asking, “Why?” or even “Why me?”. Maybe today you find yourself in an uncomfortable situation, people fighting and hurting each other. There is a wonderful promise at the end of this Psalm: Blessed are all who take refuge in God.

What does it mean to take refuge? A refuge is a hiding place and a place you can trust. It is peace in the middle of the storm, joy in the midst of suffering, and purpose in pain. Perhaps you’re wishing for a certain situation to end or to be removed from a challenging circumstance. Whatever situation you might find yourself in, you can be sure that the Father is faithful to surround and protect you. Take refuge in Him today.
