You MATTER to God

Some of us have experienced deep moments of loneliness or depression where we question “Do I even matter?” This question is ultimately one of identity. When we forget who we are and whose we are, we lose sight of the truth that our lives do matter. We get caught up in circumstances, feelings, and lies from the enemy that confuse us.

Here is the truth: You matter to God. You might not feel like you matter to any other people (which is also a lie, because you DO), but know that you matter to God. He created you uniquely and He already set apart all the days of your life to be lived by YOU. They cannot be lived by anyone else.

You may wonder if He cares about the details of your life, and the answer is YES. He deeply cares for you. He hurts when you are hurting, and He wants to carry your pain for you. If you feel lonely, anxious, depressed, invisible, or just brokenhearted, know that God is FOR you and He cares for you. His word says that He is near to you and that He cares.

Prayer: God, help me to trust that You care for me. When I feel alone, remind me that You are near. Thank You for being a God who cares and not a God who is distant. Make your nearness known to me today. Amen.
