God's Plan - Discovering God's Good DesignSample

You Are Made GOOD
When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Do you see a crooked nose? A face that breaks out that you wish was clear? Do you see hair that you wish was a different color or style? Do you see teeth that you’d prefer to be whiter? Do you see someone you love or someone you hate? Do you see a broken past? Your guilt and shame?
We all see things that we don’t like when we look in the mirror, but those things do not define who we are. We are not our past; we are not our flaws. When God created man and woman in Genesis 1, He said that it was GOOD. He made you good.
We know that sin entered the picture, and eventually, Adam and Eve hid in their shame and guilt, but God didn’t change His mind. He did not say “Nevermind, now that you’ve sinned you’re not good anymore” but instead He made the ultimate sacrifice and sent His own son to take our place because He loved us that much. Because of His sacrifice, God can look at us –even with our flaws– and see the goodness and righteousness of Jesus IN us.
You might have a broken past. You might have a broken present. You might feel flawed and insecure and you might even struggle to find anything good about yourself. But you were created GOOD and if you have Jesus, God only sees His righteousness in you. If you don’t know Jesus, ask God to help you begin a relationship with Him so that His goodness will take over your life.
Prayer: God, thank You for loving me so much that You sent Your perfect son Jesus as a sacrifice for me. Thank You that Jesus’ goodness and righteousness cover over my unrighteousness. Amen.
