The author of James tells us to respond with pure joy whenever we face trials because they build up our perseverance and our resilience, which leads to maturity.
Who is someone in your life that you would consider to be mature in faith? A parent or grandparent? A youth leader or teacher or coach?
Make time this week to ask them these questions:
- How have you seen trials build up your perseverance and resilience?
- How have you responded differently to trials as you’ve matured in your faith?
- How can I respond with joy when something hard comes my way?
