Never Give Up (High School)Sample

One of the hardest things to do in this world is choosing to not give up on others. In today’s world, it’s not common to react with kindness to someone who treats us harshly. However, in this verse Paul is writing to people in a city called Thessalonica; earlier in his letter, he applauds them on how they are “children of the light and children of the day” (v. 5). He goes on to say that even though the wicked will hurt us and deceive us, we shouldn’t give up on them. Instead, we should encourage them and build them up.

People who follow Jesus are challenged to live uncommonly – contrary to the “give up on others” mindset the world sometimes has. A great way to represent that is to continue to give grace to all people and not give up on them.

I challenge you today to find someone who you may be tempted to give up on and choose not to give up on them by choosing to see them with grace.
