Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "First Things First"

DAY 14 OF 31

Who doesn’t like a good superhero movie, such as a collection of Marvel, or DC Comics, and so on? It’s nice to be able to imagine something somewhere out there that isn’t bound by the laws of nature at all, being a savior for the weak. Sounds amazing!

The dream to have a superhero in our life can come true. If we are familiar with the stories found in the Bible, we know that unexpected, unexplained, and unimaginable salvation stories appear quite often in the Bible. Think about it: a boy defeated a giant with small stones, thousands of people crossed the Red Sea on dry land, a man was healed of his blindness, a 12-year-old girl was resurrected. The greatest one was about Jesus who died for us, but rose again!

The good news is, it’s not an outdated ‘superhero’ rescue story. The same God who did all these miracles is the same God who loves us today and still does those great deeds.

Remember that whatever it is we are experiencing today, no matter how big our problem is, God is our Superhero. He can help us, for nothing is impossible for Him.

Devotion for Parents
Adults are more logical than imaginative.

It is not a bad thing unless we are easily caught up in fantasies like children are. However, that same logic makes us doubt the power of God to do miracles in our lives. We tend to put more trust in what’s more logically accepted.

God can do beyond what our human mind can think of. He is always ready to help us in times of need.

The question is, will you trust Him?

Devotion for Kids
Who is your favorite superhero? What is his/her superpower? Do you know that they only exist in fantasy land? They aren’t real.

On the contrary, Jesus is real. He is all-powerful and ready to help us. The miracles you read about in the Bible can happen in your life, although they might look different.

Would you like to put your trust in Jesus and ask Him to help you?

Family Devotion Time
What is the problem that your family is currently facing?

Humanly speaking, it may be difficult to solve.

The verse we read today assures us that nothing is impossible for God.

So, come to Him and pray over every single problem you are having.
