Hope & Healing for Families of Drug Addicts and Alcoholics

DAY 4 OF 5

There is HOPE!

Do you believe there is hope? Hope for you? Hope for your loved one to be clean and sober?

In the midst of my husband’s addiction, I had lost all hope. I truly believed there was no hope for him, me, or our family. I didn’t think I would ever be happy again. I thought I would live every day in survival mode and walk on eggshells.

Was I really going to be this miserable for the rest of my life? Would my husband ever get clean and sober? Can I ever be happy again? Is there hope?

Yes, there is HOPE.

We have to remember to place our HOPE in Jesus. He is our ultimate comforter and healer. He can give us strength when we feel like we have nothing left to give. His love for us and our loved one is firm, secure, and unfailing. We must keep our hope anchored in him.

Hope can bring us joy and peace in the midst of turmoil. It gives us courage, strength, and boldness instead of fear. Hope can provide endurance and patience instead of tempting us to quit. Our hope in Christ offers confidence in the face of doubt. Hope can motivate us to get up and seize each day, not just go through the motions with no expectations of change.

Through Finding Hope, I have witnessed HOPE return to moms, dads, grandmothers, grandfathers, wives, husbands, sisters, and brothers. They have placed their hope in Jesus, found peace and serenity, and are living happy lives. And many of their addicted loved ones have also found hope and sobriety because the family had HOPE first!

Today’s Challenge:

Anchor your hope in Jesus. Allow Him to do what only He can do. Don’t lose hope, because there is HOPE!

“Through my experiences with Finding Hope, much prayer, and giving my loved one to God each day, I am constantly reassured that there is hope.” Kim (mom of an addict)
